About This Project

For so many years, Brother Gary Moses has shown up for the people of Victoria, Texas. Dear Brother Gary is a writing project created by his family to invite the Victoria community to write letters of love, support, gratitude to him during this tender time while he is under medical care.

Brother Gary has touched countless lives through his service, encouragement, and the way he met people exactly where they were. He has given generously of his time, energy, and heart to the city he loves so dearly, welcoming and accepting everyone who crossed his path. This is an opportunity to return that love and preserve the memories and moments that matter most, in a way that meets him where he is right now.

This space was created with care to offer a thoughtful way to communicate with him now, while honoring his need for privacy and peace. Dear Brother Gary offers a way for your words, love, and gratitude to reach him directly.

How to Share Your Love and Support

If Gary Moses has impacted your life in any way, or if you feel called to express your love and gratitude, we invite you to write him a letter and mail it to PO Box 166, Victoria, TX 77902. These letters will be collected by his family and shared with him, offering comfort, connection to the community he holds so dear, and reminders of the many lives he has touched and the people he has inspired through his years of service. 

We are specifically asking for written letters, rather than emails, texts, or posts, so he can physically see and hold them.

Your letter can include anything you feel moved to share. If helpful, here are a few ideas to get you started:

A favorite memory or moment you shared with him
How he supported you or showed up for you in a meaningful way
Something you want to thank him for
A story that has stayed with you over the years
Words of encouragement, prayer, or love
A simple get well card or thank you card with a personal note
Photos, clippings, or anything else that can be mailed and bring back a meaningful memory

The vision is to use them as part of a permanent memorial that honors Brother Gary’s life and the countless lives he has touched. A tribute the entire community can be a part of and engage with, and one that allows future generations to experience the impact he has had on the city of Victoria.

A Note From His Family

Gary is focusing on his health right now, and his family is creating a more protected and peaceful environment around him. We are asking for understanding and respect in keeping the details of his care private, honoring his wishes. Allowing him a little more space right now from direct calls and requests for updates helps protect his peace while he continues to feel the love and support of the community that cares so deeply for him.

This initiative was created as a meaningful way for the community to still show up for him. It offers an outlet for the community he holds so dear to connect with him in a way that honors where he is and what he needs right now, while allowing him to feel the love, gratitude, and care so many hold for him.
